The worst signs of concussion

By definition, a concussion is not a life-threatening injury, but it can cause both short-term and long-term problems. Signs of concussion are caused by trauma to different parts of the brain. While temporary loss of consciousness due to injury means that a concussion has taken place, most concussions occur without the patient being knocked out. If a child has a concussion, an adult should monitor him or her for the first 24 hours.
Consult your health professional if you notice any of your symptoms getting worse, or if you have more serious symptoms such as seizures or trouble walking or sleeping. Concussion is the sudden but short-lived loss of mental function that occurs after a blow or other injury to the head.
